Poem: Native Americans

NATIVE AMERICANS

by
Lissy Denno (age9)

Her hair whips in the wind.
Her eyes stare at the sea.
Her voice whispers soothingly to her baby.
Her arms grip tightly around her precious child.
Her body shakes in fear
When she sees the white men on her land.
Her legs tremble.
She coaxes her baby to eat.
She dreams her child will be safe and happy.

Wow! Are you sure you're only 9? Very good writing. I can see the fear in the woman. I hope her child does grow up safe and happy.
