A Tame Kangaroo

A Tame Kangaroo

Reba put on her socks. She put on her shoes. She put on her pants. And finally, she put on her jersey. It was Let Your Pet Play (LYPP) day in the soccer league. Her team, the Swans, were all bringing pets.

Reba was bringing Jet, her kangaroo. Reba had found him stuck in a water hole in the Australian Outback and took him in. Jet slept in a cave imbedded in the side of a hill. Reba’s family owned 500 acres of land. He ate from a big garden with fruit and vegetables.

They got in the car and sped off. When they got there, the team was already there. The other team, the Rams, were the best in the league!  Stacy had her dog, Sil had her colt, and Debby her cat. On the Swans team, there was Jet, the dog Jann, the colt Shar, the cat Reem, and other pets.

Wiiieee, the whistle blew and the game began! Later in the game, there was 30 seconds left and the game’s score was 5 to 4 Rams leading. Jet had the ball. He passed it to Shar, who kicked the ball over the goalie’s head!  The Rams had the ball. Reem stole the ball and passed it to Jann who passed it to Jet! Jet kicked the ball under the goalie’s legs and scored! The Swans did that in 20 seconds.  Jet was the hero of the game, and Reba was very proud.

This story makes me smile. That is quite a soccer game! Keep imagining - keep writing!
