What Jesus Did For Me
by
Ashley Jones
(age 14)
On a Mount called Golgotha, a dark and dreary place
Jesus hung on that cross, my dreadful sins he did erase.
The angry crowd stood all around him
They shouted, "King of the Jews, ha....what a king!"
Death will soon come upon Him, grave where is thy sting?
"You saved others, now save yourself", they cried without any care
Then Jesus thought to himself, in three days I will be back there.
We were among the crowd mocking Jesus that sad day
But halleljuah, praise His name we have heard of the way
Even though we scoffed, spit, and beat
Jesus forgave and endured the instense heat.
Now in Heaven He does sit, with glory all around
Instead of throns on His head He is rightfully crown'd.
